IN THE VINEYARD OF THE BENEDICTINE SISTERS OF DIVINE PROVIDENCE
In the Hall of Flags, we began our last day of the General Chapter, reaping the fruits of these days of prayer, reflection and decisions that will help us in the six-year period that is beginning. Later, we met in the prayer groups “Conversations in the Spirit”, where we were also invited to evaluate our XXVI General Chapter. As usual, in the Chapter Hall, we shared the phrase or word that resonated most in our group prayer.
Following, Sisters Maria das Dores Paz and Luciane Francisco read the minutes of August 3rd and 4th, which, after the necessary observations, were unanimously approved.
Continuing with the day’s agenda, we began voting on the Exhortations, Proposals and Deliberations, as well as the Plan for the next 6 years.
Then, Sister Janaína Clara Nazário read the Final Message, written by herself with the help of Sister Maria Paola Magugliani. Mother Narcisa Maria Pasetto reviewed Art. 154 of the Constitutions to confirm that the responsibilities of the General Chapter had been fulfilled and, after verifying that everything had been accomplished, she read her final message to the Delegate Sisters and then read the Closing Decree, which follows in full:

Art. 154 and Art. 155),

During the Chapter, the election of the Superior and the General Council was held, the Resolutions, Proposals and the Final Message were approved and several topics within the Theme were discussed of the XXVI General Chapter: “The Benedictine Sister of Divine Providence, Disciple and Witness of Christ, lives the joy of fraternity in the prophetic service of life. – Evangelization – Interculturality – Institution”.
This DECREE, approved and signed by all the Chapter members present, is included in the Institute’s ACTS (at the end of the decree all Chapter members signed).
At 5:00 p.m., with the Holy Mass, presided over by Father Gilson Pereira, we raised our Thanksgiving to God the Provident Father for all that we have received in these days of fraternity and joint work. At the moment of thanksgiving, Mother Narcisa sent each Chapter member on a mission, anointing them with oil and giving them light, so that, on their journey, they may be a light to illuminate the communities and the entire Congregation.
We thank all of you, sisters, lay people, friends and the people of God in general, who have accompanied us in these days with your prayers, messages and friendship. May God, in his Providence, accompany you in your mission in the world. May we walk in the light of the Divine Spirit, who guides us at every step, following in the footsteps of our beloved Foundresses, the Venerable Servants of God Maria and Giustina Schiapparoli.
